DRIVE VISITORS TO YOUR SITE WITH FREE SEO TOOLS
In many ways, your website forms the foundation of your digital marketing. Once you have set up your site, you need to make sure that people can find it on Google and other search engines. This process is known as search engine optimisation (SEO). There are a variety of tools which can guide you through this process and benchmark your progress.
If you are using a website builder tool such as Wix it is worth bearing in mind that the tool provides an SEO module to help optimise the on-page elements of your site to help Google rank your web pages in search engine results for relevant searches. If you are not using a web builder tool, there are a number of guides to help you optimise your website such as Google's own SEO guide here. As the internet has evolved, Google has placed more emphasis on fresh content which means regular relevant blogs can be critical in improving your visibility for relevant search results.

Once you've gone live with your website, you can use Google's free tool - Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track the traffic to your site. Just set up your free Google Analytics accounts and then you'll be able to generate some code to insert into your site so that you can see detailed information on who is visiting your site, including demographic information and track what they do. Google tag manager means you can easily set up events to track when a contact form is triggered for example, so that you can see how well your lead generation is working for you on your site.

After you have set up tracking for your site, you'll need to monitor how it is performing on relevant searches in Google. You can do this by using the free version of marketing leader in this area MOZ or other free tools such as Ubersuggest. Both can be added as Chrome extensions and you can also use them to compare your search engine ranking data against the sites of your key competitors.
